【看中國2020年7月17日訊】加拿大超過65名國會議員、4名參議員和超過25個社區團體已聯名簽署公開信，要求加拿大政府使用《馬格尼茨基法》，制裁有關的中共及香港政府官員。
這封公開信於本週二（7月14日）發布在加拿大香港聯盟（Alliance Canada Hong Kong）網站，已有超過65位現任加拿大國會議員、4名現任參議員和超過25個社區團體簽名。
這封寫給加拿大總理特魯多、副總理方慧蘭及外交部長商鵬飛的信中寫道：「我們謹此連署，促請加拿大政府啟用《外國腐敗官員受害者正義法》（亦稱馬格尼茨基法案）S。C。2017，c 21，針對在西藏、東突厥斯坦（新疆）及香港觸犯侵害人權等罪行之官員實施制裁。」
公開信表示，加拿大以《馬格尼茨基法》的方式制裁這些官員，會是一個強有力的行動。
聯邦保守黨的近半數國會議員已簽署該信。保守黨領袖熙爾（Andrew Scheer）、黨領袖熱門候選人麥凱（Peter MacKay）及奧圖爾（Erin O’Toole）之前都已公開表示，支持使用《馬格尼茨基法》制裁中共官員。
多名自由黨議員、新民主黨議員、魁北克政團議員和綠黨議員也簽署了公開信。綠黨議會領袖伊麗莎白。梅（Elizabeth May）也是簽名者之一。
四位簽名的參議員是：侯薩科斯（Leo Housakos）、弗魯姆（Linda Frum）、麥克弗蘭（Marilou McPhedran）及達豐德（Pierre Dalphond）。卑詩省高貴林港市長韋斯特（Brad West）也簽了名。
2017年通過的《馬格尼茨基法》使加拿大政府可以對嚴重違反人權的外國官員實施制裁，例如禁止他們使用加拿大銀行系統，禁止入境，凍結加拿大境內財產等。這項法律以俄羅斯稅務律師馬格尼茨基命名。英國、美國、愛沙尼亞和立陶宛等國也通過了類似法律。
美國政府在7月9日宣布，對在新疆涉及侵犯人權的中共官員與實體進行制裁，凍結資產並禁止入境。被制裁的中共官員包括：中共中央政治局委員、維吾爾自治區黨委書記陳全國；前維吾爾自治區黨委副書記朱海侖；自治區公安廳廳長兼黨委書記王明山；前自治區公安廳黨委書記霍留軍。被制裁的實體是新疆自治區公安廳。
加拿大香港聯盟已經向加拿大政府遞交了一份希望制裁的官員名單，其中包括已經在美國制裁名單上的陳全國、朱海侖。另外還有中共政府現任公安部部長兼黨委書記趙克志、現任中共中央政治局常委兼粵港澳大灣區建設領導小組組長長韓正、前香港警務處處長盧偉聰、現任香港警務處處長鄧炳強。
6月下旬，13名加拿大參議員簽署了由侯薩科斯共同撰寫的一封信，信中稱中共政府是「對人類的最大威脅」。
