Dear Friends and Media:

We contacted the Tibetan Government in exile to ask H.H. the Dalai Lama to make a statement. We just got the statement, and I've translated into Chinese. We are organizing donations from Tibetans, Chinese and all sympathizers.

我对在这场袭击中国四川省的灾难性地震中那些受伤的人们和逝去的众多生命感到深深的悲恸。我希望对2008年5月12日中被这场强烈地震所影响的家庭表达我内心深深的同情和真诚的哀悼。我对在这场地震中那些逝去的生命和受伤的人们祈祷。
