新華網：厚顏無恥到讓人不寒而慄

據說，官方媒體或者說絕大部分中國媒體向來秉承官方厚顏無恥的偉大傳統。即便如此，在已經步入信息社會的今天，作為官方媒體之代表的新華網，竟如此公然對歐巴馬總統的演講進行思想審查和"閹割"，實在讓人不寒而慄。

我要說的，不僅僅是他們把"fascism and communism"翻譯成"法西斯主義"，選擇性地遺忘"communism"。只是經由這起"意外事件"，讓我突然想去拜讀一下新華網對以下這段話的翻譯：

"To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West - know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history".

（"世界上那些培植仇隙，或者把你們社會的罪惡歸咎於西方的政府--你們要知道，你們的人民關心的是你做成了什麼，而不是破壞了什麼。那些依靠腐敗、欺騙和鎮壓異見維持統治的政府，你們正與歷史背道而馳"）

結果相當雷人：找遍新華網的翻譯稿，居然找不到這段話。不僅如此，就連這段話所在的段落，以及緊接著的一個段落，都被悄無聲響地"和諧"掉了。這兩段話抄錄並草譯如下：

"To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West - know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.

（對於穆斯林世界，我們尋求一種以互利和相互尊重為基礎的新的思路，世界上那些培植仇隙，或者把你們社會的罪惡歸咎於西方的政府--你們要知道，你們的人民關心的是你做成了什麼，而不是破壞了什麼。那些依靠腐敗、欺騙和壓制異見維持統治的政府，你們正與歷史背道而馳。即便如此，如果你們願意鬆開你們握緊的雙拳，我們仍會對你們伸出友誼之手）。

To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world's resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it".

（對於貧困國家的人民，我們會與你們一道，努力使你們的農場繁盛，清水長流；讓你們飢餓的身體獲得營養，渴慕知識的心靈得到滿足。那些像我們一樣較為富裕的國家，我們不應該再對我們自己國家之外的苦難無動於衷，我們也不能依舊不計後果地消耗資源。時代已經改變，我們也必須與之俱進。）
